The death has been announced of Anglophone journalist and publisher of The Post newspaper, Francis Kongnuy Wache who passed on last Friday in Buea, South West region of Cameroon after suffering from a brief illness, sources have confirmed.
The man who equally assumed the function of SDF mayor for the Nkor Council in the Noni Subdivision, Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon gave up the ghost at the Buea Regional Hospital.
According to Bouddih Adams, managing editor of The Post newspaper, hours before his demise, the deceased complained of stomach ache after which he was rushed to the Mount Mary Hospital Buea, from where he was referred to the Buea Regional Hospital for proper attention.
Unfortunately, as the doctors where reportedly battling to attend to him, Francis Wache kicked the bucket, pending surgery.
His mortal remains have been kept in the Buea Regional Hospital pending funeral arrangement.
Many have been reacting to the passing away of this great journalist who is said to have inspired a good number of journalists.
Before his demise, he was heading the SDF Municipal list for the February 9, 2020 twin polls in the Nkor Council.
He began professional journalism in 1990, when he joined the pioneer editorial team of Cameroon Life Magazine as a Senior Writer.
He is part of the founding members of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists.
He founded The Post newspaper on July 11, 1997.
He dies at the age of 64, leaving behind a wife and four children.
